Jordan Schaefer is a hematologist with a focus on coagulation disorders. He is originally from Canton, Michigan and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. Afterwards, he completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He then returned to the University of Michigan to complete his fellowship in hematology and medical oncology. Dr. Schaefer’s clinical interests include thrombotic disorders (deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism), thrombophilia, anticoagulation, bleeding disorders, low or elevated blood counts, myeloproliferative disorders, and general hematology. His academic interests include health disparities, cancer associated thrombosis, antiplatelet therapies, anticoagulation, and medical education. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and dog. He likes sports, reading, and cooking.
