Diabetic Foot Care

Diabetes is the inability to manufacture or properly use insulin, and it impairs the body’s ability to convert sugars, starches, and other foods into energy. The long-term effects of elevated blood sugar (hyperglycemia) can lead to serious damage to the body's organs, including the feet.

Wound Care and Limb Preservation

Our podiatrists specialize in diabetic foot management, with an emphasis on ulceration/wound care and limb preservation. They are certified in wound management and also have received advanced training in other types of diabetes foot care. The podiatry team is dedicated to preventing amputations by using advanced wound care techniques and integrating clinical research. Learn more about diabetic foot ulcers on our Frequently Asked Questions: Diabetic Foot Ulcers page.
