Dr. DiPonio attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of Michigan, and completed her residency training in PM&R at the University of Michigan in 1999. She is board certified in PM&R, Spinal Cord Injury medicine, and Electrodiagnostic medicine. She also holds a teaching appointment at the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. DiPonio’s research interests include functional electrical stimulation systems and quality of life in spinal cord injury patients, as well as medical education pedagogy. Her clinical responsibilities include the inpatient rehabilitation consult service, as well as an outpatient practice focusing on the rehabilitation of spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spasticity and other neurologic conditions. She currently serves as the Chief of the Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders service at the Ann Arbor Veterans Hospital.
