Dr. Lombel’s research interests focus on acute kidney injury, fluid overload and continuous renal replacement therapy in critically ill pediatric patients. She is also interested in quality improvement particularly in the area of medication errors at the time of transfer of care.


Dr. Lombel-Fahim earned her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency training and pediatric nephrology fellowship at the University of Michigan. Her clinical research has focused on acute kidney injury, fluid overload and renal replacement therapy. Clinical interests include quality improvement work on medication errors and patient and family education. Her clinical care includes in-hospital service on the general care floors and in the intensive care units. Dr. Lombel-Fahim follows patients in the outpatient setting for longitudinal care of a variety of kidney disorders. She also participates in the care of patients in the pediatric dialysis program.
