Biography
Dr. Selwa was born and raised in Michigan, received her undergraduate degree at Harvard University and returned to Michigan for medical school, neurology residency and an epilepsy fellowship. She serves the department of neurology both as Associate Chair for Clinical Services, as co-director of the epilepsy program, and as director of the Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program. Dr. Selwa sees patients with epilepsy, as well as many other patients with a wide spectrum of neurologic disorders.
Her scholarly work has focused on cognitive function in epilepsy, sleep in epilepsy, and quality of life outcomes in patients with epilepsy. She also works to improve education for neurologists, as well as the education of other medical specialists and the general public about neurologic illnesses including epilepsy, sleep disorders and coma.
