Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery - Maxillofacial Prosthodontics
Maxillofacial Prosthodontics is dedicated to the prosthetic correction and management of defects of the oro-facial region acquired from surgical ablation of cancer or traumatic injuries, congenital birth defects, and alterations in growth and development. A maxillofacial prosthodontist typically provides the following kinds of treatment:
- Rehabilitation of defects of the hard and soft palate
- Restoration of the bony and soft tissue defects of the maxilla and mandible
- Facial prostheses
- Obturators
Oncological Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
The Oncological Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery service diagnoses and treats cancer and premalignant lesions of the mouth and maxillofacial region. Oral cancers include those occurring in structures in and around the mouth, such as the tongue, lips, salivary glands, back of the throat, and neck. We use the most advanced methods of reconstruction and rehabilitation. We use a multidisciplinary approach during treatment.
