Dr. Scott received a B.A. degree in biological sciences, Cum Laude, at Harvard University, a M.D. degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and a M.P.H. degree at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Scott completed his General Surgery residency training program at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He then completed his fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Washington’s Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA prior to joining the faculty at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Scott is actively involved with the University of Michigan’s Institute for Health Policy and Innovation (IHPI), the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy (CHOP), and the Michigan Center for Global Surgery (MCGS).
Dr. Scott specializes in the care of the acutely ill and injured. His clinical practice consists of all aspects of emergency general surgery and trauma surgery. Dr Scott also specializes in the care of critically ill patients in both the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and the Trauma/Burn Intensive Care Unit.
