Shannon S. Joseph, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Kellogg Eye Center, University of Michigan. She specializes in orbital and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Joseph received her medical training from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins, followed by a highly specialized fellowship in orbital and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, accredited by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Joseph specializes in the following conditions and procedures: reconstructive surgery of the eyelid and periorbital area, orbital surgery, Mohs reconstruction, eyelid and orbital tumors, orbital trauma, thyroid eye disease, and facial paralysis. She is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
