Dr. Bell is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Michigan Medicine and the Associate Director of the Global Health and Disparities Path of Excellence at the University of Michigan Medical School.
He completed medical school and a Masters in Public Health at St. George's University in Grenada in 2004, before completing his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in 2008. Dr. Bell went on to complete a Master of Science and a fellowship in Family Planning at the University of Michigan.
After fellowship, Dr. Bell joined the faculty at U of M and served as an NIH K12 Women’s Reproductive Health Research Scholar. Dr. Bell also currently serves as the associate director of the Global Health and Disparities Path of Excellence at the University of Michigan Medical School and the co-fellowship director of the Family Planning Fellowship at St. Paul Hospital and Millennial Medical College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He has taught and conducted research in India, Cambodia, and throughout sub-Saharan Africa. He considers teaching to be one of the most important aspects of his faculty responsibilities and provides instruction in Obstetrics/Gynecology, Family Planning, Global Women’s Health, and Public Health.
