Heart Operations

The Adult Cardiac Surgery Program at the University of Michigan Health System treats patients with a variety of heart problems, from coronary artery disease to heart valve disorders and heart failure. Treatments range from heart bypass to complex heart valve repairs and replacements, percutaneous valve options, and complex aortic aneurysm/dissection repairs to heart transplant and implant of artificial hearts.

Cardiac surgeons collaborate with specialists in cardiovascular medicine, interventional radiology, vascular surgery, critical care, and cardiac anesthesia to provide care for patients who require treatment of common or complex cardiac disease.
