Dr. Alvarez earned his Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy at Butler University, and his medical degree at Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, in East Lansing, Michigan. He served an internship at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, California. While he was in the United States Navy, Dr. Alvarez worked in Flight Surgery Training. He completed his residency and a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan, Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Alvarez is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. In addition to sports medicine services at MedSport, he provides Primary Care at Domino's Farms. Dr. Alvarez serves as a team physician for Eastern Michigan University. He has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine.
