Biography
Dr. Lewis Morgenstern is Professor of Neurology and Director of the Stroke Program at the University of Michigan. He is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology. Dr. Morgenstern helps patients reduce their risk of stroke and he treats patients who have recently had a stroke in the hospital. He was recently Chair of the American Heart Association’s International Stroke Conference and has served on many national committees for the American Heart Association and the Federal Government to fight stroke. Dr. Morgenstern research interest involve reducing stroke in minority populations who are have the greatest stroke risk and helping communities provide emergent care for stroke. He takes the message of stroke prevention personally by exercising regularly and eating a low salt, low calorie diet low in total calories and high in fruit and whole grains.
