Karin Hardiman, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Colorectal Surgery. Dr. Hardiman graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in Biochemistry. She received her M.D. and PhD degrees from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Medical Scientist Training Program. She completed her General Surgery residency at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, followed by a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery there also, which she completed in June 2011. Dr. Hardiman joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in September, 2011.

Dr. Hardiman’s primary research interest is in improving the treatment of rectal cancer via translational research.
