Biography
Dr. Keiko Asao received her medical degree from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan and was trained in internal medicine. She holds a Master of Public Health and Ph.D. in epidemiology. She was an Endocrinology Fellow at the University of Michigan before being hired in 2011.
Her clinical interests are diabetes mellitus and its epidemiology, and endocrine disorders. Her research interests are in health services research in diabetes mellitus, particularly health care utilization and delivery; and the search for novel risk factors for diabetes mellitus, obesity, and their complications, particularly gustatory perception.
