About
Brian Kilbarger, M.S. PA-C, is the Associate Chief Physician Assistant at Michigan Medicine, and the Lead Physician Assistant in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree at Eastern Michigan University and his Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Wayne State University.
Upon completion of his training, Brian spent two years working with adult internal medicine patients before returning to the University of Michigan to join the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, where he completed a clinical elective during graduate school. Brian’s desire to expand ear, nose and throat care led to the development of general otolaryngology clinics, which were staffed by physician assistants in an effort to expand access to care.
Through Brian’s continued initiative, the department has expanded these clinics to include three full-time physician assistants and two faculty members who dedicate their practice to seeing patients with general otolaryngology complaints. Brian’s knowledge and experience in maximizing physician assistant utilization to increase patients’ access to care has created opportunities for Brian to serve on executive committees within the health system, as well as his appointment to the Office of Clinical Affairs.
