Paul Park, MD was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1971. He grew up in southern California and attended the University of California at Los Angeles for college where he earned bachelor and master's degrees in biology. Dr. Park subsequently obtained a M.D. degree from the University of Michigan. He then pursued a neurosurgical residency at the University of Michigan. Given his interest in the spine, Dr. Park obtained subspecialty training in complex spinal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Spine Institute. He then acquired additional training in minimally invasive spinal surgery at the Semmes-Murphey Clinic. After completing his training, Dr. Park accepted a position in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. Park's clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of spinal surgery. However, his main clinical interest is in the surgical treatment of degenerative spinal disorders, spinal trauma, and spinal tumors. His research interest is broad based and includes the impact of minimally invasive spinal surgery on surgical outcomes as well as in the biologics of spine fusion. In addition, he is actively interested in evaluating new spinal instrumentation as they arise.
