Spiritual Care Services

The Department of Spiritual Care at U-M Health is dedicated to serving the needs of our patients, their families and caregivers, and our staff. We have curated a collection of multi-faith resources to provide support. At U-M Health, the importance of spiritual and emotional support cannot be overstated, and we remain committed to ensuring that our patients, their families, and staff receive the compassionate care they need, reflective of the diverse spiritual and religious traditions we honor.

Our Chaplains: Providing Multifaith Support & Care

U-M Health's chaplains are devoted professionals who provide spiritual and emotional support tailored to the unique needs of each individual under our care. Trained in clinical pastoral care, they serve patients, their families, and staff by listening empathetically and reaffirming the intrinsic worth and resilience of every person. Our chaplains draw from a wealth of spiritual and religious traditions, embracing the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of those they assist.

Rev. Christina Wright, PhD leads this dedicated team, offering non-denominational support to those contending with health-related challenges. Whether marking milestones in recovery or navigating the emotional complexities of treatment and change, the chaplaincy team places the patient's spiritual journey at the forefront. Their commitment is to guide without seeking to convert, honoring the sacredness of each individual's search for meaning and ensuring that everyone's spiritual path is met with dignity and respect.
