Healthy Michigan Plan enrollment open all year

The federal Affordable Care Act (sometimes called Obamacare) brings many new options for health insurance coverage for individuals, families and small businesses.

U-M coverage help

 These include:

  • Medicaid coverage for more Michigan residents under the Healthy Michigan Plan (Enrollment and coverage continue all year)
  • Individual & family plans available for purchase on a federal Marketplace - and subsidies & tax credits that can lower the cost of buying these plans (Open enrollment now closed; enrollment still open for those who lose coverage or have another qualifying life event)
  • An online Small Business Health Options Program Marketplace for small businesses to buy coverage for their employees

SPECIAL ENROLLMENT PERIOD: If you have to pay a penalty on your 2014 federal income taxes for not having health insurance in 2014, you may be able to enroll in coverage for 2015 (and avoid another penalty) if you sign up between March 15 and April 30. Call our counselors to find out more!
