Elderly Care (Geriatrics)

The U-M Geriatrics Center offers comprehensive health care and services to our aging community, with the goal of helping adults over the age of 60 lead healthier and more satisfying lives. As one of the nation’s premier geriatrics centers, we are a leader in the provision of exceptional patient care, research on aging and training physicians and other health care professionals to treat the specific needs of the older population. We have long been recognized as one of the country's best geriatrics programs by U.S. News and World Report.

Geriatrics Center physicians are highly-trained specialists who have specific expertise in caring for older patients, who often have multiple chronic conditions or who may be confused or frail. Our team includes social workers, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, pharmacists and medical assistants as well as physicians. All Geriatrics Center staff members have special training and an interest in working with older adults.

The Geriatrics Center’s Turner Geriatric Clinic offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment of older adults by board-certified Geriatric Medicine physicians. We can provide you with ongoing primary care or coordinate your care with your regular physician. The Geriatrics Center Specialty Clinics offer multiple specialty services in the same, convenient location at the U-M East Ann Arbor Health and Geriatrics Center

Services available in our clinics include evaluation and treatment of many different diseases and conditions impacting the older adult, including:
