This class is designed to give you a complete head-to-toe look at how to care for your newborn. Topics include bathing, diapering, safety, infant stimulation and much, much more. It’s recommended that you take this class at the beginning of your third trimester.
Locations and times for Baby Care Basics:
Brighton Health Center First Saturday of the month, 10am to noon.
East Ann Arbor Health and Geriatrics Center Fourth Saturday of the month, 10am to noon.
Canton Health Center One Wednesday evening per month, 6 to 8p.m.
Becoming a parent is a wonderful, exiting, and beautiful thing! The reality is that having a baby is also stressful,confusing, and exhausting. A baby changes everything! Learn how to keep your relationship strong, how to take care of yourself, handle the stress that a baby brings, how to build support, and much more.

There will be some surprises in store when you become a grandparent. Learn the latest trends in childcare, child-rearing practices, safety and much more. We’ll also discuss the joys (and challenges) of being a grandparent, how you can support your child, and take care of yourself.
Recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics and taught by Registered Nurses of the University of Michigan Health System. Safe Sitter students will learn babysitting ethics, how to care for children (age appropriate play, feeding, holding an infant, etc.), injury prevention, basic first aid, and how to care for a choking infant or child.

This session is offered as part of the "Mindful Moms" mommy group.
Time: First Wednesday of each month, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Research shows that peer support increases breastfeeding rates and duration. Come join us in a relaxed and comfortable conversation about breastfeeding facilitated by lactation specialists from U-M Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital! This 2-hour class is led by a lactation consultant and will help families:
- Learn the 14 steps to better breastfeeding.
- Learn hands on techniques for good positioning and holding infant.
- Become familiar with the various breastfeeding pumps and supplies.
Participants are asked to please bring a baby doll.
$20.00. Cash and checks are accepted. Scholarships are available.

New Mom? Expecting a baby?
Free mommy group where you can make friends with other moms and moms-to-be and build skills at the same time. Topics include swaddling and soothing tips, self-care and mood booster strategies. Breastfeeding support and lactation consultant available on the 1st Wednesday of each month.
Free, open to the public, and drop ins and babies are welcome.
