Brain Injury Rehabilitation

The University of Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury Program is a comprehensive program of cognitive, psychosocial and physical rehabilitation. Our core treatment team consists of physiatrists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech pathologists, social workers, neuropsychologists, vocational rehabilitation counselors, rehabilitation engineers and dieticians. We provide intensive services that promote increased independent and accommodation to disability through education and retraining. After patients are discharged, we may refer them to an alternative treatment setting or recommend that they be followed by our own treatment team on an outpatient basis.
