Dr. Hershner is interested in disordered sleep in college students and how sleep impacts academic performance. She has an innovative Collegiate Sleep Disorders Clinic offers an expedited evaluation of students.
She has extensive experience in treating sleep disorders in young adults. College students often are very sleepy, which may be due to various causes; this sleepiness can adversely impact academic performance. Treating these underlying issues can improve grades and quality of life.
Biography
Shelley Hershner, M.D. Assistant Professor of Neurology, and Assistant Clinical Director of the Michael Aldrich's Sleep Disorders Center, and Director of the Collegiate Sleep Disorders Center.
Dr. Hershner completed her medical degree at Medical College of Ohio. She has completed a residency in neurology and a fellowship in sleep medicine at University of Michigan. Her research and academic focus has been on sleep in college students. She has written several chapters on sleep medicine.
